Exciting Times

Well, nothing too exciting happened this past week. I turned 5 months old on Tuesday. I'm slowly but surely adding some more foods to my repetoire. My favorites are my cereals (rice, wheat, and barley), sweet potatoes, bananas, and green beans. Next up on the list is apple sauce.

I had a fun day today. Mommy and I went to look at houses with Aunt Dana and Uncle Andrew. Nana and Poppop were there, too. It was nice while we were out looking so it was fun to be outside. We ran into some trouble coming home though. Around Morgantown the sky got really black and ugly. Then it started to rain really hard and hail. Of course, I slept through all of it while Mommy got us home safely. I guess March is going out like a lion, just like it came in!

I can't wait for the spring weather. I want to go outside more!! Hopefully our trip to Florida in a few weeks will jump start this spring!

Love,
Avery

Happy Spring!!!

Hi everyone!! It's finally spring... when will the warm weather get here? This weekend was nice. I spent some time outside with Mommy and Daddy working in our gardens. It was fun to watch all the birds and squirrels run around our yard. I also enjoyed watching the tree branches blow in the wind.

On Saturday, I went to my first turkey dinner... apparently a Lancaster County tradition. It was torturous to watch everyone around me eat turkey, stuffing, green beans, corn, and other yummy foods and all I had was a bottle. While Mommy was making my bottle Daddy and Nana gave me a small taste of ice cream... I LOVED IT!!!! They gave me one more teeny, tiny taste before it was time to go home. What a treat!!!

I am glad to be back to school after missing a few days last week. I'm even happier that this stomach bug has run its course and my diaper rash is all healed. That was NOT a pleasant experience!!!

I can't believe March is almost over. I turn 5 months old tomorrow. Can't believe it... Mommy said we can start trying some veggies tomorrow. I think I will try the squash first. The orange color looks more fun than the green beans!! The next few weeks will be busy, but good. The first weekend in April Mommy and I will go to visit our family in Levittown while Daddy goes hunting for turkey in NY. Then, BASEBALL SEASON STARTS!!! YEAH PHILLIES!!!! I can't wait to wear my Chase Utley shirt! I asked Mommy to get me the Ryan Howard shirt too, but she said I'm "an Utley girl," whatever that means. Then, we're off to Florida for Easter. I'm a little worried about the plane ride, but Mommy says I'll be okay and that I can sleep the whole way. I can't wait to wear my new bathing suit and to go to the beach!!

Hugs and Kisses,
Avery

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi everyone! How's it going? Everything is going great here! I tried some new cereal tonight... Barley! It was YUM-O!!! I ate it all up and still wanted more.

We had a big milestone this weekend- I slept in my own room two nights in a row! I love my ladybug mobile. I freak out every time I see it. My sleep sheep helps me relax so that I can sleep well. On Saturday night I went to bed at 10:30pm and slept until 7am Sunday morning! Same thing last night. Mommy read me a new book last night called 10 Little Ducks. I loved the pictures!! Eric Carle is my new favorite author. Mommy even bought me new car seat dangles that are from Eric Carle books.

Aunt Dana came to visit me on Sunday and brought me two very pretty dresses and a cute shorts outfit. I can't wait for it to be warm enough for me to wear them. Our trip to Florida is soon coming up. We leave on April 8th and will be there until April 13th. I can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa and meet my great grandma Griffith (G to the 3). I am really excited to go swimming for the first time!

This past week I rolled on to my side. Not all the way over yet, but getting there. Tonight I pulled myself up in my bouncy seat and sat up straight! I'm getting so big so quick. It's a lot of fun though! I can't wait to start fruits and veggies in a few weeks. Grandma bought Mommy a baby food maker so she can make me the good stuff.

I'm really looking forward to Wednesday... it's suppose to be really warm! I can't wait to go for an extra walk in the sunshine! I hope it gets warm soon... and stays warm! That's all for now... talk to you soon!!!

Hugs,
Avery

Super Baby

Hi everyone! I am turning out to be quite the super baby. I've mastered the whole eating process and have now added oatmeal to my repettoire of single grains. More goes down the hatch than on my belly, so I'd say that's progress! Sometimes Mommy is a little too slow between bites so I try to lick the spillage off my bib... doesn't work too well, but it's fun.

I've been having a great time at daycare the past couple of weeks. Last week we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. I love Dr. Seuss books. My favorites are The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Mommy makes me listen to Oh, the Places You'll Go- but I think that's a little over my head right now.

I'm having a lot of fun at home, too. My new favorite toy is my exersaucer. Kate and Owen let me borrow it since they are too big for it. I love being on the same level as Cooper. He is my bestest-buddy in the whole wide world. He doesn't even get mad when I accidentally pull his hair when I pet him.

Daddy's at the Flyers game tonight in a fancy luxury box. I hope he takes me sometime. I can't wait for baseball season to start. It was such a let-down to be here for the last few games of the World Series and then it was all over!! Mommy got my first Phillies shirt for me. And it's an Utley shirt to boot. Can't wait. That's all for now... Talk to you soon!!

Hugs,
Avery

In like a lion?

Happy Sunday friends and family! It was an exciting weekend for us here in Lancaster. Mommy and Daddy took me up to Reading to go to Smokey Bones for lunch yesterday. But, I finally kicked this cold so I spent the entire drive up, meal, and the drive back sleeping!!! Missed my chance on some kickin' ribs, but I guess we'll get there again sometime soon.

Seriously though, I had my first go round with solid food today. It was messy, and hard to navigate, but I managed to get a few swallows down the hatch. Mommy made a huge mess though.

I spent a lot of time in my new toy this weekend. It's an exersaucer. I really like it. I can spin around in it and there are so many fun toys on it. Mommy and Daddy put it in front of the window so I can look out back into the yard. While Mommy was napping last night Daddy and I saw our neighborhood bobcat in the backyard again. Hopefully he won't eat the new little kitten we saw the other day.

I've been patiently waiting for this snow to arrive. It would be nice to have a snow day with Mommy tomorrow. The weathermen make it sound like March is coming in like a lion, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Love always,
Avery
