Autumnal Equinox

Hi! Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been pretty busy lately. Tomorrow is September 24... which means I am 11 months old. Since my buddy Trey turns 1 on October 4th I am going to the Bear room with him next week. That way we can be together, even though I won't be 1 until later in the month. Just as the seasons are changing, I am changing everyday too!

Mommy and Daddy just love to watch me and laugh at me. I am a pretty silly girl. I am learning to do so much. I started clapping and playing "So Big!" I love to dance and play with my lego blocks. Life is just great! I am getting to try all sorts of new foods, but many are hard to eat with just 2 teeth!! Those darn 4 teeth still haven't come in yet!! I am starting to get sick and tired of this teething stuff... Anyway, I've recently discovered pancakes, cinnamon buns, and spaghetti!!

So much stuff is going on in October... we are going to be busy. I have my 1 year old photo shoot the first weekend in October and then we are going to the Renaissance Faire with Terry and Sarah. Then we have Aunt Dana's baby shower and Amara's birthday party. We also have some fun fall festivals to go to. Then, it's time for my birthday!! I can't wait to open some presents! And I can't wait to eat some cake!

Back to School

Well.. the time has come. Mommy heads back to school for good on Monday. This summer went by too quickly. I wish we had more time to spend at home together. We had a lot of fun though. Mommy read a lot of books to me and I read a lot of books to her. I played with Cooper and Tim and had lots of fun running errands with Mommy.

I turned 10 months old this past Monday. I can't believe I will be a year old soon!! Can't wait for my party... Yummy cake to eat!!! I am so good at crawling now and even take a few steps here and there. I will definitely be walking soon! Mommy bought me a cute pair of sneakers for when I do walk. I am getting in to everything... playing with the cable box, taking wood out of the box on the fire place, splashing in Cooper's water bowl, and playing with the computers. I am busy, busy, busy!!

I have lots of new friends at daycare now. Trey and I are the oldest so we get to do whatever we want to and the little babies just have to sit and watch! We will soon be moving up to the Bear Room. This is where the 1 year olds go. I will miss Miss Trish though. She is my buddy. She may be able to come to Bear Room with us. We will keep our fingers crossed.

I love taking baths and enjoy meeting new people. But I love to just be moving around. And I really LOVE reading all of my books!!! I have 3 teeth coming in on the top. I hope they come soon!!! I am tired of this teething business. I am loving bananas and applesauce right now. Mommy smashes up strawberries and blueberries to add to my applesauce. That makes is super yummy!!

Good bye summer!!!

Avery

Where is Summer going???

This summer sure is going by quickly!! It's been quite busy! I started crawling all over the place and never stop moving, so it's been hard to keep up with my blog. My legs are a little bruised from climbing up the step into the kitchen, so I figured I'd take it easy today and blog for a little.

The last weekend in June Mommy and I headed back to Bucks County to meet Liz and Johanna. I had a lot of fun playing in the grass with Johanna and all the rubber duckies her nana decorated the party with! I even snuck 2 home in my diaper bag! Then we headed down to Sarasota to see Grandma and Grand-dad for just about two weeks. I got to go swimming and we went to a great aquarium! I saw lots of fish, sea horses, sharks, manatees, sea turtles, and dolphins! I loved the aquarium!! The best part of our trip was getting to see Great Grandma Griffith a lot. She was not well but it sure made her happy to visit with me! We were all glad that we got to see her because she passed away the day I turned 9 months old... July 24.

It's nice to be home now. Mommy has some meetings and work to do at her new library, so I went back to school to see Miss Trish and my friends for 2 days each week. I love being at school! We have splash days on Wednesdays, which are great!

I had my 9 month check-up on July 23. No shots this time, but I have to go get blood work done. I failed my hearing test, but the doctor said that is because I have tiny ears! They will check again in October. I have 4 teethies up top trying to come through. I sure hope they do soon!! They hurt, A LOT!!!!

Daddy has another week of vacation coming up in August. We are going to go to Zoo America, Chocolate World, and Cabela's. They should all be really fun trips! Talk to y'all soon!

Avery

It's Summer!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say I'm glad it's summer! Mommy's last day of school was yesterday so that means it's time for fun!! We're going to hang out here for a few weeks and then visit Grandma and Grand Dad in Florida from July 3-July 13. I can't wait to swim in their pool and in the Gulf of Mexico again!!! Mommy and Daddy celebrated their birthdays this month. It was fun to celebrate with them. I'm starting to scoot along a little bit... not quite crawling yet though. I think that is just around the corner.

In the beginning of June we went to a going away party for Aunt Marchell and Uncle Dan. It was fun to see all of my family. On June 22 I have a play date with all of the Reidenbaugh Babies of the 2008-2009 school year. I am going to play with Ashlyn, Mackenzie, Nicky, and William. I can't wait!!

Mommy got a new job as a school librarian for next year... Yay!!! I'll get to spend some time in her library this summer so she can get some work done. I am also going to go back to my school just for 2 days a week starting in the middle of July. I miss my friends there already so it will be great to see them a little each week until I go back full-time in August. Until next time, be well!!

Love,
Avery

Marvelous May

Well, another month has come and gone. I am already 7 months old!! My hair is finally starting to grow... that's about the most exciting thing on my end this month. Looking forward to Mommy being done with school so we can hang out more.

I am really enjoying rolling around on the floor and playing with the new toys Mommy bought me a few weeks ago. Cooper likes to try to lick my face while I roll all over. It makes me giggle and laugh so much!! I'm trying my darndest to start crawling... but I only go backwards or roll over. I do enjoy standing up though. I think I may just skip crawling and go straight to walking.... we'll see though. I've been fussing a lot again this week... I have another tooth coming in on the top. Fun stuff...

This month Mommy made me some homemade baby food. I did not like the green beans at all, even though they are one of my favorite veggies to eat! They must not freeze well. But I have enjoyed my squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. I hope she can get more creative... I am getting bored of plan veggies and fruit!

Lot's of parties coming up... we went to Jacqueline and Jeremy's house last Saturday. I loved playing with Amara's toys. Next Saturday is Brittany's graduation party and the weekend after that is Daddy's 30th Birthday and a going away party for Aunt Marchell and Uncle Dan. Then Mommy's birthday the next weekend!! We sure are busy. Can't wait for summer... no school and days at the pool.

Talk to you soon!

Avery

Amazing April

Wow! It's been a long time since I've blogged... sorry about that. It's been a pretty busy month. Where to begin....

Met the Easter Bunny this month. He was so kind to wear an outfit that matched my Easter dress for our pictures. He was pretty cute. I really liked playing with his furry cheeks and whiskers!

I took my first plane ride to Tampa so that I could visit Grandma and Grand Dad for Easter. I brought Mommy and Daddy with me, too. But Cooper had to go on his own vacation without us... The plane ride was great. Lots of new people to meet and talk to and so many new and exciting things to see. I got to meet my Great Grandma Griffith (I think I will call her GG from now on... that's a mouth full!). I also went swimming, well floating, in the hot tub. The pool was a little too cool so I hung out there instead. I LOVE the water. It was fun to splash Mommy and Grand Dad. I have a little boat that I could hang out in... it was so relaxing. I also took my first dip in the Gulf of Mexico. After Easter dinner we took a sunset stroll on the beach. Daddy found me an AWESOME shark's tooth. It is a Tiger Shark tooth from a still-living shark. I also got lots of sea shells. I dipped my toes in the water and enjoyed watching the waves roll in and out, the people playing, and all the birds flying around. Can't wait to go back in July. Daddy booked us a trip for 10 whole days... lots of pool and beach time!! I am a born Beach and Sun Bum.

The week after we got home was a rough one... but for good reason. I got my first two teeth! They are on they bottom and coming up at the same time. I enjoy playing with them with my tongue and biting the spoon when Mommy feeds me. Sometimes they hurt, but a little time with my teething ring and things are all good.

Yesterday was my 6 month birthday. Daddy took me to the doctor for 4 more shots... OUCH!! I feel a little yucky today from them, but it's not too bad. I am really making progress. I can sit all by myself and roll all the way around now. I've been trying to inch around when I am on my belly but I've not gotten too far yet. I think I'll be crawling soon. Mommy and Daddy are in for it when that happens! Cooper, Mitch, and Tim better watch out, too!

School is going great... I really love my "Bunny" friends (that's the name of our room... the Baby Bunnies. How clever). It's usually just Paige, Trey, and myself. Trey's been out a while though... Miss Trish said he was in the hospital because he was really sick. I hope he feels better and I really hope he doesn't make me sick!! Miss Trish takes us for lots of walks now that the weather is nice. I love to be outside. It's so fun to see the birds and listen to them sing and to see all of our "senior" friends out and about Brethren Village. They sure are happy to see us babies everyday!

Well, that's about it for now. I promise I will not let it go so long between blogs.

Hugs and Kisses,
Avery

Exciting Times

Well, nothing too exciting happened this past week. I turned 5 months old on Tuesday. I'm slowly but surely adding some more foods to my repetoire. My favorites are my cereals (rice, wheat, and barley), sweet potatoes, bananas, and green beans. Next up on the list is apple sauce.

I had a fun day today. Mommy and I went to look at houses with Aunt Dana and Uncle Andrew. Nana and Poppop were there, too. It was nice while we were out looking so it was fun to be outside. We ran into some trouble coming home though. Around Morgantown the sky got really black and ugly. Then it started to rain really hard and hail. Of course, I slept through all of it while Mommy got us home safely. I guess March is going out like a lion, just like it came in!

I can't wait for the spring weather. I want to go outside more!! Hopefully our trip to Florida in a few weeks will jump start this spring!

Love,
Avery

Happy Spring!!!

Hi everyone!! It's finally spring... when will the warm weather get here? This weekend was nice. I spent some time outside with Mommy and Daddy working in our gardens. It was fun to watch all the birds and squirrels run around our yard. I also enjoyed watching the tree branches blow in the wind.

On Saturday, I went to my first turkey dinner... apparently a Lancaster County tradition. It was torturous to watch everyone around me eat turkey, stuffing, green beans, corn, and other yummy foods and all I had was a bottle. While Mommy was making my bottle Daddy and Nana gave me a small taste of ice cream... I LOVED IT!!!! They gave me one more teeny, tiny taste before it was time to go home. What a treat!!!

I am glad to be back to school after missing a few days last week. I'm even happier that this stomach bug has run its course and my diaper rash is all healed. That was NOT a pleasant experience!!!

I can't believe March is almost over. I turn 5 months old tomorrow. Can't believe it... Mommy said we can start trying some veggies tomorrow. I think I will try the squash first. The orange color looks more fun than the green beans!! The next few weeks will be busy, but good. The first weekend in April Mommy and I will go to visit our family in Levittown while Daddy goes hunting for turkey in NY. Then, BASEBALL SEASON STARTS!!! YEAH PHILLIES!!!! I can't wait to wear my Chase Utley shirt! I asked Mommy to get me the Ryan Howard shirt too, but she said I'm "an Utley girl," whatever that means. Then, we're off to Florida for Easter. I'm a little worried about the plane ride, but Mommy says I'll be okay and that I can sleep the whole way. I can't wait to wear my new bathing suit and to go to the beach!!

Hugs and Kisses,
Avery

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi everyone! How's it going? Everything is going great here! I tried some new cereal tonight... Barley! It was YUM-O!!! I ate it all up and still wanted more.

We had a big milestone this weekend- I slept in my own room two nights in a row! I love my ladybug mobile. I freak out every time I see it. My sleep sheep helps me relax so that I can sleep well. On Saturday night I went to bed at 10:30pm and slept until 7am Sunday morning! Same thing last night. Mommy read me a new book last night called 10 Little Ducks. I loved the pictures!! Eric Carle is my new favorite author. Mommy even bought me new car seat dangles that are from Eric Carle books.

Aunt Dana came to visit me on Sunday and brought me two very pretty dresses and a cute shorts outfit. I can't wait for it to be warm enough for me to wear them. Our trip to Florida is soon coming up. We leave on April 8th and will be there until April 13th. I can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa and meet my great grandma Griffith (G to the 3). I am really excited to go swimming for the first time!

This past week I rolled on to my side. Not all the way over yet, but getting there. Tonight I pulled myself up in my bouncy seat and sat up straight! I'm getting so big so quick. It's a lot of fun though! I can't wait to start fruits and veggies in a few weeks. Grandma bought Mommy a baby food maker so she can make me the good stuff.

I'm really looking forward to Wednesday... it's suppose to be really warm! I can't wait to go for an extra walk in the sunshine! I hope it gets warm soon... and stays warm! That's all for now... talk to you soon!!!

Hugs,
Avery

Super Baby

Hi everyone! I am turning out to be quite the super baby. I've mastered the whole eating process and have now added oatmeal to my repettoire of single grains. More goes down the hatch than on my belly, so I'd say that's progress! Sometimes Mommy is a little too slow between bites so I try to lick the spillage off my bib... doesn't work too well, but it's fun.

I've been having a great time at daycare the past couple of weeks. Last week we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. I love Dr. Seuss books. My favorites are The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Mommy makes me listen to Oh, the Places You'll Go- but I think that's a little over my head right now.

I'm having a lot of fun at home, too. My new favorite toy is my exersaucer. Kate and Owen let me borrow it since they are too big for it. I love being on the same level as Cooper. He is my bestest-buddy in the whole wide world. He doesn't even get mad when I accidentally pull his hair when I pet him.

Daddy's at the Flyers game tonight in a fancy luxury box. I hope he takes me sometime. I can't wait for baseball season to start. It was such a let-down to be here for the last few games of the World Series and then it was all over!! Mommy got my first Phillies shirt for me. And it's an Utley shirt to boot. Can't wait. That's all for now... Talk to you soon!!

Hugs,
Avery

In like a lion?

Happy Sunday friends and family! It was an exciting weekend for us here in Lancaster. Mommy and Daddy took me up to Reading to go to Smokey Bones for lunch yesterday. But, I finally kicked this cold so I spent the entire drive up, meal, and the drive back sleeping!!! Missed my chance on some kickin' ribs, but I guess we'll get there again sometime soon.

Seriously though, I had my first go round with solid food today. It was messy, and hard to navigate, but I managed to get a few swallows down the hatch. Mommy made a huge mess though.

I spent a lot of time in my new toy this weekend. It's an exersaucer. I really like it. I can spin around in it and there are so many fun toys on it. Mommy and Daddy put it in front of the window so I can look out back into the yard. While Mommy was napping last night Daddy and I saw our neighborhood bobcat in the backyard again. Hopefully he won't eat the new little kitten we saw the other day.

I've been patiently waiting for this snow to arrive. It would be nice to have a snow day with Mommy tomorrow. The weathermen make it sound like March is coming in like a lion, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Love always,
Avery

4 Months!

Well, it's hard to believe, but I'm 4 months old already. My doctor's appointment went well today, aside from the 4 shots I got. Daddy said I was a trooper though and I stopped crying as soon as it was done. I now weigh 14 pounds, 3 ounces and am 25 inches long (wahoo... 79th percentile!). My little head is only 16 inches in circumference, but Mommy and Daddy think it's cute... so I'm okay with that!

The most exciting thing about today is that I will get to start my rice cereal tomorrow. That should be an interesting experience for us all! The doctor said I don't have pink eye, so that's a relief. It's been an exhausting day... time for my nightly snooze with Daddy on the couch. TTFN!

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. This is Avery Griffith, coming to you live from Lancaster, PA. This weekend was busy. Mom and Dad took Cooper and I back to Levittown to visit the family for the day on Saturday. It was a long day, but I got to see Nana and Poppop, Aunt Dana and Uncle Andrew, Nona and Poppop Bello, Nan, Mommom Brown, and Mommom Hummel. It was very exciting to see my great grandmothers and my two great-great grandmothers.

I've been fighting this nasty cold. Mom and Dad won't stop picking at my nose. I have pink eye too... whatever that is. All I know is that they keep wiping my eyes now too!

Sunday was a fun day. I spent a lot of time cuddling on the couch with Daddy while Mommy did her work around the house and her school work. Daddy and I danced a lot and I played on my jungle mat. I'm getting so strong and coordinated that I can hold two toys (one in each hand) and kick the other toys hanging from the mat... all at the same time!

Well, another week starts tomorrow. Should be an exciting one... I turn 4 months old on Tuesday. Won't be such a great day though... Daddy is taking me to the doctor where they are going to give me 4 shots! I hate needles! But, the doctor should give me the A-OK to start with rice cereal. I'm excited to start eating something other than Similac!! Talk to you all later!

Love and Hugs,
Avery
